Willy would suit an experienced rider who'd like a horse that doesn't need training from scratch.  He's also suit a confident intermediate rider who would like a horse to learn on.

Have you seen the Baroque horses at Kryal Castle and wanted to join in?  Willy's instructor Amanda Massie has now relocated to Kryal Castle at Ballarat.   Amanda is available for lessons and can help you get to know Willy.

Handsome compact type, very solid.  Will easily carry an adult's weight.

Willy is a respectful horse who loves attention and is eager to please. He has a big personality and is an easy and fun horse to ride and handle.

He has been classically trained and is light on the aids, but can be lazy. Will suit someone who doesn't want a really forward horse.  Laterals established.

One owner since purchase from Wallbrook stud at 8 months of age. Handled and trained with attention to detail and thoughtfulness.

  • He has had extensive ground work training including leading, lunging (has won lunging classes), long reining and natural horsemanship.
  • Will pull a light harrows so may suit harness.
  • Trick trained: will Spanish walk, salute, rear and lie down on command.
  • Has been to riding club and is calm at shows. Enjoys skill-at-arms training.
  • Good to tie up (will tie to a solid object, no need for baling twine)
  • Good to trim hooves, hasn't had shoes on but may need them on hard/rocky ground
  • Good to wash, clip (doesn't need sedating), teeth (again, doesn't need sedating)
  • Good to float, worm (needs a few moments to think, then he’s ok).

He's been lunged over jumps and should be ok with small jumps after a bit of practice/training.

Will not suit a property where he is the only horse. He does not like being on his own and will not enjoy trail rides by himself.

Willy’s instructor is now located in Ballarat, if you’re located nearby you can take advantage of this with lessons with someone who knows the horse very well.

Sound and drug free.

Always fed a balanced, supplemented diet. Vet check welcome.

Only lightly worked in the last 5 years, never been ridden on hard ground.

Do not throw your money away on someone else’s breakdown that will go permanently lame and break your heart (it happens so frequently – it’s happened to me).

Not suitable for beginners as he doesn't know beginner aids.
